STARTING POINT: “It is difficult to make it as a
professional motocross racer in England. I got to the point where I was
close to making it, but not quite there. I started training younger
riders as a way of supporting my racing career. I started out renting a
house in California and renting out my practice bikes. More and more
people came, and it grew out of nothing.”
THE JOB: “This year we have been focusing on building up the business on
the professional side, making sure the books are in order. Lately, I
have spent more time in the office than at the track, which is not my
favorite thing. I spend two days a week at the track with my
customers, two days a week in the office and one day a week working on
the bikes. It’s really satisfying to help people ride the tracks and rub
shoulders with the guys that they have only seen on TV and in
magazines.”
