The Monster Energy AMA Supercross series and Operation Homefront have teamed up to host an online auction benefitting the organization after last Saturday’s Military Appreciation Race from San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium. Fans have the chance to bid on the race-worn gear of the sport’s biggest stars that celebrated our service men and women with special military designs.
Ten riders contributed to the auction – James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto, Ken Roczen, Ryan Dungey, Justin Barcia, Broc Tickle, Justin Brayton, Josh Hill, Chad Reed, and Jake Weimer. Interested bidders can log onto the official Ebay store hosting the auction – SupercrossMilitaryAppreciation – and peruse the various items that were donated.
James Stewart’s special edition Seven jersey featuring digital camouflage on the sleeves was worn during the afternoon practice sessions in advance of the night program in San Diego and was autographed for the auction.
Ryan Villopoto’s red, white and blue Thor gear featured military patches and icons. The auction set features a signed jersey along with pants, goggles, and gloves.
Ken Roczen wore Fox Racing’s white camo gear. The entire set is available, featuring a signed jersey to go along with pants, a helmet, and pair of boots.
Ryan Dungey wore the same gear as his Red Bull KTM teammate. The auction includes pants, helmet, boots and a signed jersey.
Justin Barcia’s Alpinestars gear featured various shades of green with red and yellow accents that helped it stand out. Both Barcia’s jersey and pants have been signed and are available at the auction.
Broc Tickle wore the same white camo Fox Racing gear as Dungey and Roczen. His jersey and pant combo are available at the auction.
Justin Brayton’s O’Neal gray camo set had Operation Homefront tributes on the sleeves, front, and back. Brayton signed and donated both his jersey and pants to the auction as well as goggles.
Josh Hill’s green camo Shift gear complement to the white camo worn by Fox riders. Hill’s jersey and pant combo is available at the auction.
Chad Reed’s has offered up his green camo Shift jersey and pants to the auction.
Jake Weimer was injured in practice, but the Kawasaki rider will donated a signed jersey to go along with pants and a brand new set of goggles.
The auction is now live and can be accessed via www.SupercrossOnline.com. The auction will end on March 8, 2014.
