Dear MXA,
I have the
strangest problem and nobody can tell me how it is happening. When I
check the engine oil in my 2006 CRF450 before I ride, it is perfect. When I
come back from riding it is higher. I am actually gaining oil while
riding. How can this be?
You have a
blown counterbalancer seal. When the counter balancer seal goes out,
oil from the transmission is drawn into the top-end. We're willing to
bet that as your engine oil quantity is increasing, your transmission
oil level is going down. Honda is the only four-stroke that can have
this problem, since Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki and KTM use shared oil for the tranny and top-end.
