DREAM JOBS: HOW TO MAKE A LIVING DOING WHAT YOU LOVE

KTM's Mark Johnson got his start at Grant Langtson's shop and then started doing the suspension for Team KTM

MARK JOHNSON

FACTORY KTM SUSPENSION TECHNICIAN

STARTING POINT: “I started with Langston Motorsports working for Grant. I was doing a lot of side stuff with suspension and learning a lot of things doing that. I did some stuff with Rookie [Darrin Sorenson], the suspension guy at KTM. I gave him a resume, got the call and it’s been really good."

THE JOB: “We do a lot of testing with Marvin Musquin, Mike Alessi and Andrew Short. We go to a lot of different tracks and get the bike set up. I do a lot of stuff at the races too—rebuilding and servicing for Supercrosses and outdoors. It’s been a busy season, because we also help the JDR team with P.J. Larson and Tye Simmonds. I enjoy testing the most, because you learn a lot; it’s always progressing and it’s never-ending. There’s always something new going on. The riders are awesome to work with. They are nice guys and good testers.”
