it depends on how much hair you have. If when you chop your hair off, your hemelt fits loose and moves around at speed, then by a short hair hemelt . I have a hot weather and cold weather hemelt. My cold weather hemelt is usually one of my older summer hemelts because it has packed out and is too big but in cold weather I wear a balaclava that makes the older packed in hemelt fit better and it also keeps me nice and toasty warm.
