THIS ISN’T MOTOCROSS, BUT WHO CARES? THIS IS MOTORCYCLE RACING AT ITS OUTERMOST LIMIT

FROSSARD’S KNEE OPERATION A SUCCESS

Steven Frossard.

Steven Frossard is now convalescing and thinking of a thorough rehabilitation and recovery program after an operation to successfully rebuild his right anterior cruciate ligament and remove part of a cracked meniscus earlier this week. The Monster Energy Yamaha GP racer underwent a successful procedure on his right leg on Tuesday and has now left the hospital in Lyon, France.

The factory YZ450F rider will now enter a rehab center for three weeks (spending weekends at home) where the results of the surgery and subsequent progress will be carefully monitored. It is expected that the French ace will be able to start tentative exercise and cycling in just over a month and a full recovery is expected by November.

HENDRICK MOTORSPORTS MAKE $200,000 DONATION ON BEHALF OF KIM MCGRATH

Just six weeks after receiving his wife Kim McGrath’s diagnosis of Leukemia, with the help of friends, family, fans, sponsors, and colleagues, the seven-time Supercross champ’s efforts, on behalf of Team Kim, have brought in close to 3000 new potential donors and raised much-needed funds for the non-profit organization “Be The Match.”

“As we moved into our sixth week of Marrow Drives for Team Kim, it was brought to my attention the importance of funding to help offset the costs associated with testing and adding new members to the Be The Match Registry. I put out just an initial ask for some monetary assistance to help keep the funding going for the great, life-saving work being done at Be The Match and within hours the Hendrick Marrow Program was emailing us back with its $200,000.00 donation!,” said Jeremy McGrath.

Immediate Team Kim fundraising activities include the Del Moto Inaugural Pro Am at Del Mar this Sunday, June 17; a pre X Games online auction featuring spectacular memorabilia from many of the top X Games’ athletes (past and present); and a “text to donate” campaign kicking off June 28.To make a donation, simply visit www.bethematchfoundation.org/goto/kimmcgrath.

Leading into Budds Creek 250/450 National, 26 new riders have obtained their AMA Pro Racing licenses (not to be confused with an AMA pro license which is needed for Supercross). That brings the total number of AMA Pro racers to 442. Not every rider renewing his license is a newbie? some simply waited until Budds Creek to enter a National.

BALLISTIC BATTERIES: A SMALL, LIGHT, HIGH-ENERGY BATTERY WITH ADVANCED ENERGY STORAGE TECHNOLOGY

The Ballistic EVO2 Battery, manufactured by Ballistic Performance Components, will be featured June 17 on the Motorhead Garage TV series on the nationwide Fox Sports Network. The episode will air on Sunday, June 17, at 11:30 a.m. (Eastern) and Monday, June 18 at 4:30 p.m. nationwide. Motorhead Garage, with almost one million viewers, is one of the highest-viewed weekend automotive block programs.

Jeffre Vascoe, President of Ballistic Performance Components, demonstrated the lightweight Ballistic EVO2 Batteries that provide more energy out of a smaller package, require no trickle charge for maintenance and deliver at least three times longer service life than lead acid batteries. In fact, after a year on the shelf, these amazing batteries still hold over 90% of their electricity ? something never before seen in the world of batteries!

Ballistic batteries are designed, developed, and manufactured in the USA. They are distributed throughout the USA and across the globe by Parts Unlimited, Drag Specialties, Parts Canada and Parts Europe for use in motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, personal watercraft and scooter.
