Honda Pro Racing is delighted to announce that LS Motors Honda has signed top British rider Shaun Simpson to ride in MX1 (450 class) for 2011.
The 22-year old from Gauldry, Scotland, has inked a three-year deal with the officially supported LS Motors Honda team. Shaun will be partnered by Belgian ace Ken De Dycker in his first 450 World Championship season.
Simpson’s 2010 season was marred by a run of physical problems for most of the GP season, the driven Scot still managed a credible eight overall position. Shaun scored several top five finishes and grabbed a 250 podium place in Catalunya.
Shaun Simpson said,”It’s really great to have a new challenge and something that will give me fresh motivation. I am excited at moving to the MX1 class and to joining the LS Motors Honda team. Over the last few seasons they have proved they have the right team set up to fight even at the highest level. I am confident that I can maybe surprise a few people next season as I feel very comfortable on the bigger bike and perhaps it suits my size and style better than the MX2 (250) bike.”
