DREAM JOBS: HOW TO MAKE A LIVING DOING WHAT YOU LOVE (10/12/12)
CLARK JONES
NOLEEN J6 OWNER
STARTING POINT : “I raced the AMA Nationals and I always wanted to have a shop. To start a shop, first you need the skills to run a shop and tune bikes. A lot of that came from racing and test riding experience. On the business end, I went to college to help with that, but it’s something you have to learn over time.”
THE JOB: “When you’re the head of the company, you make all the decisions, from advertising to sponsorships to what product you should come out with, to how a certain motorcycle should be set up for a particular person. We have had race teams, and one of the greatest memories was finishing the Supercross series in second place with Larry Ward in 1995. It’s neat to get a phone call from a customer who says, ?I can’t believe how well my bike works.'”
