Last year Jeffey Herlings won the 250 Championship by 135 points — he can afford to miss a race without putting his title hopes in jeopardy.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing advises that current MX2 World Champion Jeffrey Herlings will not compete in this weekend’s 250 World Championship Round 3 in Brazil, the last of the flyaway races (for now). Jeffrey crashed on his shoulder during practice at least week’s Dutch National Championship event. The KTM team has decided he should rest it this weekend to ensure he recovers complete fitness before the series returns to Europe. The next race isn’t until April 13 in Italy.

Pit Beirer, KTM Head of Motorsports, said “We naturally regret that Jeffrey will not be on the grid for the Brazil round as we are sure his fans will be disappointed. But the season is long and we feel he is well advised to sit this one out.”
