“I just found these photos recently and, in my world, they capture me at my best. This at the old Adelanto racetrack, now known as Racetown 395. Don England had moved his race program from Huntington Beach to Adelanto and built a 1/2 mile and a TT (which was my favorite).

“At the end of the race program, Don would ask all of the class winners (in every class from 100 Novice to Open Pro) to race a Sweepstakes race. And to make it interesting we ran the track backwards. The start was staggered and as the Open Pro winner I started one-half a lap behind the front row. I won every Sweepstakes race I entered on my Redline Triumph, except for one, when I crashed into a 100 Novice in this exact corner.

“These photos are going backwards. I loved this turn as I had perfect balance going to the right. I could do this corner every lap with my feet on the pegs. Somehow, I never had that same skill going left…which paid the big bucks!”  Tom White
