To make it into the 20-team Sunday finals, each country sends one man into the 250 (MX2), 450 (Mx1) and extra 450 (MX3) class qualifiers. The top 19 team on points (best 2 out of 3 riders) advance to the actual Motocross des Nations. The teams outside of the top 20 move to Sunday morning’s Last Chance race , in which only one team advances to the Final.
