Jim Pomeroy won the 1973 Spanish 250 Grand Prix, but the officials made a mistake and gave the trophy to German Hans Maisch. A couple days later they realized their mistake and changed the results. Hans Maisch kept the trophy and appears smiling at the end of the video. 30 years later Jim’s brother Ron Pomeroy went to the original trophy manufacturer and had an exact replica made for $3000. Over 78 riders and clubs donated to the cause including Dick Mann, Brad Lackey and Billy Grossi.

Jim Pomeroy died in a car crash on August 6, 2006.
