WHAT IS IT? Have you ever wished that you could have been at some seminal moment in motocross history, but you missed it? “Monsters of Motocross” was a one-night, gala get-together of the greatest motocross racers in American history. If you missed it, this three-hour DVD will take you there.ÿÿÿÿÿ

WHAT’S IT COST? $24.95.

WHAT STANDS OUT? Here’s a list of things that stand out with “Monsters of Motocross.”

(1) Movies. There are two movies in the DVD. In Bob Hannah’s spoof on the classic “One Chance To Win” movie about the Battle of New Orleans, Hannah plays all the parts (except one). It is a hilarious put-down of all the stars of “One Chance To Win.” The second movie is Jody Weisel’s “Motocross Immortals.” It will bring a tear to the eyes of hardcore motocross fans.

(2) Live action. Apart from the two movies, “Monsters of Motocross” is a cinema verite film about the festivities. It includes Bob Hannah’s tongue-in-cheek hosting and a Brad Lackey roast with Marty Smith, Tommy Croft, Chuck Sun, Danny LaPorte and others. The highlight is the very short and biting speech by Thorleif Hansen.

WHAT’S THE SQUAWK? This is not an action film by any strecth of the imagination. It is a chance to be in the audience at a special event. It does help if you’ve seen “One Chance To Win.”

It’s just like being there.
