The 11th round of the MXGP World Championship series was an exciting one in the MX2 class. KTM’s Jorge Prado and Pauls Jonass are less than 10 points apart in the series. Pauls had a huge points lead, but Prado has been chipping away at it every race. The American Thomas Covington won the first moto and placed forth in the second moto for 2nd overall. The last three races we have seen a whole different rider out of Thomas.

The 11th round of the 2018 MXGP is in Lombardia, Italy. After Thomas Covington announced that he was coming to America full time in 2019, it must have light a fire in him as he rode the best we have seen all year and won the qualifying race in the MX2 class. In second was the persistent Jorge Prado who has been closing the MX2 points gap on his teammate Pauls Jonass. There is only a 16 point gap between the two riders now. In third was Factory Honda’s Calvin Vlaanderen who was six seconds back from Prado. The points leader, Pauls Jonass finished fifth heading into Sunday’s race.
