2018 MXDN RED BUD | TRAVIS PASTRANA, KEVIN WINDHAM & RYAN SIPES MAKE IT INTO THE “A” MAINS

Kevin Windham rode great to a fourth place finish. 

The team Puerto Rico riders of Ryan Sipes, Kevin Windham and Travis Pastrana had bad luck in the muddy condition in Saturday qualifying. They qualified 24th overall in the qualifying races. The top two rider finsihes are combined with the worst score being thrown out. Ryan Sipes finished 14th, Kevin Windham 21st and Travis Pastrana 27th. The top 19 nations advance to the”A” Main and the 20th and final spot goes to the winner of Sunday morning’s “B” Final.

Ryan Sipes placed second. 

Everyone knew that the winner of the “B” main event at the Motocross des Nations would advance to the “A” mains, but no-one thought that Team Puerto Rico would have a shot after yesterdays results. They proved everyone wrong on the muddy Red Bud track this morning and scored a 2,4,18. Travis’ 18th place was thrown out making a final score for Team Puerto Rico 6, which was good enough to win—and get the last gate pick for the actual MXDN event.

Countries that did not advance to the “A” Mains included South Africa, Portugal, Japan, Argentina, Mexico, Iceland, Ukrainia and Quatemala and the Philppines
