2019 DETROIT SUPERCROSS | TRACK CONDITIONS REPORT

2019 DETROIT SUPERCROSS | FULL COVERAGE

Dunlop’s Broc Glover and Race Day Live’s Jim Holley give us the scoop on the current conditions and predictions for how the track will develop in Detroit. In press day the track was soft and rutted. We assume that this is because of the new lime ban after the San Diego lime gate situation. During a meeting we had with FELD, they explained that the Dirt Wurx crew has been using lime to build Supercross tracks for over 20-years. They use it in the same way that it’s used in agriculture and construction, to firm up soil to soil solidify it. Now that they have a temporary ban on using lime, this could mean softer tracks and more ruts. It will be interesting to see if they remove the ban soon, or if they will find another way to solidify the tracks or if they keep the ban and let the dirt develop however it wants… Keep checking back in with MXA throughout the day for results, news and photos from qualifying and the night show in Detroit.
