ANAHEIM 2 SUPERCROSS | BEFORE THE FIREWORKS
WE TAKE YOU BEHIND THE CURTAIN AT THE 2020 ANAHEIM 2 SUPERCROSS
The 2020 Anaheim 2 Supercross and round three of the Monster Energy Supercross season is about to get underway and before the riders get geared up, they walked the track to get acquainted with the layout and conditions of the dirt. Along with the track walk, the riders, mechanics, crew members and KTM KJSC 50 riders and parents hung out for the mandatory AMA riders meeting and optional chapel service by Jake Vanada. With the rain that we experienced on Thursday night in Southern California, the edges of the track and the starting line are a little bit muddy, but the rest of the track has perfect moisture. Luckily, the Dirt Wurx crew had the track covered with tarps to keep the rain off the rhythm sections, jumps, whoops and corners, but that also meant that the rain water that fell went to the edges of the track. This is good news for the riders because the track is in good condition and it’s good for the shoe companies because our photographers Daryl Ecklund, Trevor Nelson, Travis Fant and Josh Mosiman will all need new shoes after walking around in the mud all day.
Michael Mosiman had a rough go in St. Louis when another rider hit him in the rhythm section and sent him into Dylan Ferrandis’ landing zone on the first lap of the 250SX Main Event, directly after the start. Dylan and Michael both went down and they’re both looking for a better result this Saturday.
