2020 GLENDALE SUPERCROSS | 450 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS

The 2020 Glendale Supercross Triple Crown is shaping up to be a good one. With Justin Barcia, Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac grabbing wins at the first three rounds, the door is still open for Cooper Webb, Jason Anderson, Adam Cianciarulo and the rest of the pack to make it winner new winners in a row. The track in Glendale is very unique, it has a 429-foot long start straightaway which ranks right up with the longest start straightaways in Supercross. To utilize the rest of the stadium floor efficiently, the layout zig-zags across the start straight away five different times to make for an interesting Glendale Supercross track. The track started out slick and muddy as the Dirt Wurx crew intentionally watered it more than usual in hopes to keep moisture in the dirt and create good traction for the night show. With the Triple Crown format making a comeback today in Glendale, the pressure is even higher to qualify inside the top 18 to make it straight into the night show. The riders who aren’t in the top 18 will have a Last Chance Qualifier this afternoon to try and earn the final four spots on the starting line.

450 LCQ RESULTS

2020 Phoenix Supercross_Chris Blose-5570Jerry Robin snagged the final transfer position after Josh Cartwright crashed in the 450 LCQ.

Josh Cartwright grabbed the holeshot and early lead in the 450 LCQ. Alex Ray was second and Chad Reed was third. Kyle Cunningham got close to making a pass on Reed on lap two but Reed was able to hold him off. Chad then passed Cartwright in the whoops to inherit second. Ryan Breece then passed his way up into third to get into the battle. Kyle Cunningham passed him back and then made a mistake in the whoops. Josh Cartwright capitalized on the mistake and took him out in the next corner. It wasn’t a t-bone, but Cartwright’s rear wheel took out Cunningham’s front wheel and he couldn’t save it. Then, all by himself, Cartwright made a mistake and looped out his KX450 in the rhythm section and went down. This allowed Jerry Robin to score the final transfer position.
