The track inside of the Rice-Eccles Stadium has been changed; it’s now running in the opposite direction with the first turn going right instead of left. Also, the whoop section was extended to span across a full straightaway. Click here to see a photo of the track. The 250SX East Coast Regional Championship is set go racing tonight for their sixth race of the year. With only three rounds left for the 250 East rider (including the East/West Shootout), the defending Champion Chase Sexton is looking to finish ahead of his rival Shane McElrath and give himself a bigger buffer going forward. SALT LAKE CITY 2: 250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS
Shane McElrath was the fastest 250 rider of the day.
At the start of the second 250 qualifying the riders did a practice start to get used to the new first turn as they do at every Supercross in the second qualifying session. Shane McElrath had the holeshot, but Chase Sexton snuck up the inside, hit Shane and pushed him into the tough blocks. Was it an aggressive move or just a riding incident. Check out the video on our Facebook page by clicking here to give us your thoughts on it. Shane was asked about the incident in his post qualifying session interview he said: “Yeah it’s fine, it’s going to take a lot more than that to knock me down.”

SALT LAKE CITY 2: 250 GROUP A QUALIFYING SESSION 1 RESULTS
Shane McElrath at SLC Supercross #2.
Everyone complained about the short, 40-second lap times at Sunday’s SLC Supercross and the Dirt Wurx has responded with a long and challenging set of whoops. With the higher elevation equating to slower motorcycles in Salt Lake City, the 250SX riders will especially have a challenging time keeping their momentum up through the whoops. In the first 250 Group A qualifying session, it was Shane McElrath who was able to logged the fastest lap time with points leader, Chase Sexton close behind.

Chad Sultz #364 was 13th fastest in the 250B practice. Luckily for Chad and the rest of the 250 riders, they don’t have to worry about qualifying into the night show. Supercross has limited the amount of riders competing in each class to 40. Everyone riding in the qualifiers will make it into the night show.
