Round 12 of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross is set to go in Salt Lake City, Utah’s, Rice-Eccles Stadium. This is the second round in a row being held in SLC and it’s the first race of the season to occur on a Wednesday night. The twelfth round of Supercross also happens to be the sixth round of the 250SX East Coast Regional Championship. Before the series was postponed, defending 250 East Champion, Chase Sexton held a 10-point lead over Star Racing Yamaha’s, Shane McElrath, but after winning the Main Event in Salt Lake City on Sunday, Shane was able to get 3-points closer to Chase. Now, with four more races to go, the pressure is on for both riders. Check below for Heat race, LCQ and Main Event results from the 250 East class in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Colt Nichols grabbed the holeshot, Shane McElrath second, Jace Owen third, Pierce Brown fourth and Chase Sexton was fifth on the opening lap. Then, right after the finish line Chase Sexton slid out all on his own and Pierce Brown ran into him. Both riders went down and Sexton was all the way back to 17th. Colt Nichols held the lead still with his teammate, Shane McElrath close behind. Jace Owen was third, already almost six seconds back only three minutes into the race. Chase Sexton was on a mission and he was making passes quickly. Shane made the pass on Colt Nichols just five minutes into the race which gave him the lead with five minutes plus one lap to go. Chase Sexton made his way into sixth with over nine minutes to go and Garrett Marchbanks was behind him. Jalek Swoll was fourth, but he was passed by Chase Sexton and Garrett Marchbanks in a matter of two turns. Kyle Peters also passed Swoll to get into sixth. Chase had his eyes set on Martin for third who was ten seconds ahead, but Garrett Marchbanks was sticking with him with five minutes to go. Towards the end of the race, Shane McElrath’s lead extended to just over 3-seconds on his teammate, while Jeremy Martin held third and Chase Sexton kept pushing in fourth. The track was dry and slick, but much better than it was for Round 11 on Sunday. Shane went on to finish first with Sexton fourth and now they’re tied in points.

Coty Shock 2020 SALT LAKE CITY ROUND 11 250 main event-7138Coty Schock battled at the front of the pack, but he wasn’t able to hold on for a transfer position into the Main Event.

BWR Honda rider Wilson Fleming grabbed the holeshot and didn’t look back, but the battle was all behind him. Dustin Winter was block passed by Kevin Moranz, but he wasn’t happy about it. Dustin came back and aggressively knocked Moranz off the track. Meanwhile, Josh Osby passed Coty Schock to get into the transfer position. Then Moranz was passed by Osby and Curren Thurman was all over him on the final lap trying to make the pass for the Main. Miraculously, Curren Thurman give it everything he had on the last lap in the long whoop section and almost out of control, he was able to pass Moranz and take the final transfer position while Wilson Fleming cruised home to the victory in the 250 LCQ.

Shane McElrath grabbed the holeshot with his teammate Colt Nichols close behind in second. Utah notice, Pierce Brown was third, but a crash in the whoops on the first lap put him in 18th. Justin Starling moved into third, Martin fourth, Swoll fifth and Darian Sanayei sixth on the second lap.  Unfortunately for Colt Nichols, he slid out on the third lap and dropped back to fifth. Shane McElrath made a mistake all by himself over the finish line and went off the track, almost crashing, but he managed to save it and maintain his lead. Pierce Brown was making a come back throughout the race and made a pass on Jerry Robin to get the Main Event transfer position with one lap to go. Meanwhile, Jeremy Martin was able to sneak his way into second place, ahead of Nichols.

Chase Sexton grabbed the holeshot with Josh Osby and Kyle Peters close behind. Garrett Marchbanks was around the four spot when he made an aggressive jump to the inside of second and third place. Garrett was qucikly able to get into second on the first lap. Enzo Lopes was running near the front when he made a mistake, doubled the triple and then he tried to seat bounce the next jump but caught his foot peg on a tough block and it sent him flying, without the bike. He dislocated his shoulder and knew it pretty quickly, he walked off the track straight to the Alpinestars medic looking for assistance putting it back in. Later in the race, FXR Honda rider Coty Shock went down in the whoops.
