2020 SUPERCROSS SEASON POINT STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 10 IN DAYTONA
The tenth round of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross in officially in the books from Daytona. With both Eli Tomac and Ken Roczen coming into round ten with 200 points and sharing the red plate everyone knew it was going to be an interesting round of racing. At the beginning of the day, Tomac was fastest in qualifying throwing down the only 1:09 of the day. Then in the heat races, it was Cooper Webb and Ken Roczen who won the heat races in the 450 class. In the main events, Eli Tomac went on to win his fourth Daytona main event with Garrett Marchbanks winning his first-ever 250 Supercross main event.
450 OVERALL POINT STANDING (ROUND 10 OF 17)
Daytona 450 main event recap:
It was Ken Roczen and Jason Anderson who were first and second off the start. Blake Baggett went down hard off the start. Aaron Plessinger, Justin Barcia, Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac were behind Roczen and Anderson. By the second lap, Roczen had a four-second lead. Cooper Webb made his way past Barcia and Plessinger within two corners. Tomac then made his way by Barcia for fourth. Webb made his way pass Anderson on the six-lap while Roczen had a seven-second lead. On lap nine Tomac moved into third passed Anderson. Tomac made his way past Webb on the 11th lap with Roczen a little over four seconds ahead. Tomac charged up to Roczen in no time. Roczen made a mistake in a corner with Tomac going around him. And it was Tomac who won his fourth Daytona 450 main event with Roczen second and Cooper Webb third.
250 EAST COAST POINT STANDINGS (ROUND 4 OF 9)
250 Daytona main event recap:
Off the start, it was Garrett Marchbanks who got the holeshot with his teammate Jordon Smith in tow. After a few corners, Shane McElrath leaned on Jordon Smith taking both of them out on the first lap. On the second lap Marchbanks had a two-second lead over Chase Sexton. Rj Hampshire was third, Enzo Lopes fourth and Jeremy Martin fifth with McElrath making his way up to sixth. By the halfway point Marchbanks still had over two-second lead over Sexton. McElrath couldn’t make up much time in fifth behind Martin. In the closing laps, Sexton closed within a second of Marchbanks. All the while Rj Hampshire make a mistake and lost a position to Martin. Garrett Marchbank’s held off Sexton for his first 250 Supercross overall in Daytona.
250 WEST COAST POINT STANDINGS AFTER 6 ROUNDS
The 250SX Main Event in San Diego was a cat and mouse game between Austin Forkner and Dylan Ferrandis. It was Rockstar Husqvarna rider Michael Mosiman who grabbed the holeshot and the early lead in San Diego. Michael held of Austin Forkner and Dylan Ferrandis for the first four laps while they were battling behind him. Austin was the first rider to get around Mosiman and then Ferrandis did shortly after. Once Dylan and Austin were one and two, the battle was on. Austin did everything he could and he fended off a few of the Frenchman’s attacks, but eventually Dylan was able to dive up the inside of Austin in the off camber corner and take over the lead. Sadly Austin went off the track and lost time to Dylan when he tried to re-enter. Ferrandis held on to take the win with Forkner second, Justin Cooper third and Michael Mosiman fourth.
