2020 SUPERCROSS SEASON POINT STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 9 IN ATLANTA

The 2020 Atlanta Supercross is officially in the books and the points have been updated. Coming into round nine of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross season, Eli Tomac was on a roll and had a seven-point lead over Ken Roczen. Cooper Webb was 26-points back after he had a huge get-off in Arlington. Many didn’t think Cooper would race and many also thought Eli would continue his winning ways, but that wasn’t the case in Atlanta. Now, Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac are tied in points going into Daytona and Cooper Webb is down 24-points now. In the 250 East class, Shane McElrath and Chase Sexton came in tied, but they’re leaving with five points separating them and it’s Chase Sexton, the defending Champion who has the upper hand as they series heads back down south to Florida.

450 OVERALL POINTS STANDINGS (AFTER ROUND 9 OF 17)

Ken Roczen won the Main Event and is now tied with Eli Tomac for the points lead in the 450SX class.

In the 450 Main Event, Ken Roczen launched out of the gate and grabbed the holeshot while Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac were buried in the back of the pack. Martin Davalos, Justin Hill and Vince Friese ran up front while Jason Anderson, Justin Barcia, Dean Wilson and more were further back with Webb and Tomac. Eli fought hard and was battling forward bouncing off of Barcia on his way through before he finally ran into Blake Baggett in the middle of a berm as Baggett was cutting down and Eli took both himself and Blake out. Eli picked his bike up in 14th and fought his way through the pack to finish fourth in a very exciting battle between he and Cooper in which Martin Davalos found himself in as well. Eli Tomac turned a horrible night into a decent one when he came from a bad start and a crash all the way to fourth place in the Main Event.

250 EAST COAST POINTS STANDINGS (AFTER ROUND 3)

Chase Sexton came into round three tied with Shane McElrath, but he leaves round three five points ahead.

Chase Sexton proved in Atlanta that he is the man to beat in the 250 East division. Chase was second off the start behind Rj Hampshire while Shane McElrath was third behind his rival. After a few laps, Shane made a pass on Chase and got around him, but then Shane made a poor choice in the sand section and went outside which allowed Chase to easily slip by. Chase pulled away from McElrath, caught Hampshire and won the race while Shane finished third. Now, as they head into Daytona, Sexton has a five point lead on Shane McElrath and a 14-point lead on Rj Hampshire.

Shane McElrath expressed on the podium that he was not happy with his performance in Atlanta.

Unfortunately, Jeremy Martin crashed on this inside single in the sand section both in qualifying and in the Main Event.

250 WEST COAST POINT STANDINGS AFTER 6 ROUNDS

Dylan Ferrandis grabbed the win in San Diego and he has extended his points lead.

The 250SX Main Event in San Diego was a cat and mouse game between Austin Forkner and Dylan Ferrandis. It was Rockstar Husqvarna rider Michael Mosiman who grabbed the holeshot and the early lead in San Diego. Michael held of Austin Forkner and Dylan Ferrandis for the first four laps while they were battling behind him. Austin was the first rider to get around Mosiman and then Ferrandis did shortly after. Once Dylan and Austin were one and two, the battle was on. Austin did everything he could and he fended off a few of the Frenchman’s attacks, but eventually Dylan was able to dive up the inside of Austin in the off camber corner and take over the lead. Sadly Austin went off the track and lost time to Dylan when he tried to re-enter. Ferrandis held on to take the win with Forkner second, Justin Cooper third and Michael Mosiman fourth.
