2020 TAMPA SUPERCROSS | 450 MAIN EVENT RACE RESULTS
The 2020 Tampa Supercross is officially underway and round seven of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross season is looking to be another exciting one. So far this season the racing in the 450 class has kept race fans on their toes and we expect that the Tampa SX will be no different. Ken Roczen comes into Tampa only one point ahead of Eli Tomac and nine points ahead of Cooper Webb. Adam Cianciarulo is also carrying a lot of momentum coming into Tampa as it’s his home state and he lead many laps once again last weekend in San Diego. Other riders like Blake Baggett, Jason Anderson, Justin Barcia and Zach Osborne are also looking for breakout rides tonight in Tampa. Stay tuned to MXA all night for results, news, photos and points from Tampa.
450 MAIN EVENT RESULTS
Vince Friese grabbed the holeshot once again, but Adam Cianciarulo made quick work of him to take over the lead. Zach Osborne went down hard on the first lap while around the five spot. Eli Tomac was second, Malcolm Stewart third on lap two. Cooper Webb was fifth on lap three. Ken Roczen was sixth on lap three. Cianciarulo made a mistake in the sand section and Eli Tomac made up a lot of ground on him. Finally with just under twelve minutes to go Eli Tomac passed his teammate Adam Cianciarulo to take over the lead. Ken Roczen was fifth and Cooper Webb fourth behind Malcolm Stewart with eight minutes left. Finally Cooper made the pass on Stewart for third and Roczen passed Stewart on the next lap. Then, right after he passed Malcolm, Ken Roczen went down and on the very same minute, Adam Cianciarulo went down in the whoops. Adam got back on the track in tenth. Then Eli Tomac had a 12 second lead over Cooper Webb and Malcolm Stewart. Justin Barcia got around Justin Hill to finish fourth on the last lap. Eli Tomac cruised home to win his 30th 450 Main Event of his career. Click here for the updated Championship Point Standings.
450 LCQ RESULTS
Chad Reed grabbed the holeshot in the 450 LCQ with Ryan Breece, Kyle Cunningham and Adam Enticknap right behind. Daniel Herrlein passed Adam Enticknap on the first lap to get into the final transfer position. Kyle Cunningham put on a charge and kept Chad Reed honest at the midway point of the race.
450 HEAT RACE TWO RESULTS
Adam Cianciarulo grabbed the holeshot with Ken Roczen in second. One the first lap Blake Baggett landed on Jared Lesher in a rhythm section and took him out and then Josh Cartwright ran into Blake and went down as well. Ken Roczen was closing in on Cianciarulo but then he made a mistake and Adam was able to extend his lead. Adam and Ken then put on a great battle for the fans. Adam held the lead until he made a mistake in the sand and Ken was able to pass him. Then, only the final lap Adam was close to Ken and he couldn’t triple in one of the rhythm sections due to a lapper and Adam got close on the final lap but he couldn’t make the pass. Adam was also the first rider we’ve seen so far who has jumped a big triple out of a corner onto the table-top one straight away from the finish line. Broc Tickle finished fourth in his first race back as well.
450 HEAT RACE ONE RESULTS
Vince Friese grabbed the holeshot with Malcolm Stewart right next to him, but it was Eli Tomac who shot out of the first turn to grab the early lead. Malcolm Stewart, Vince Friese and Cooper Webb rounded the top four on the opening lap. Vince Friese dropped back quickly as Aaron Plessinger and the rest of the field made their way to the front around Friese. Eli Tomac extended his lead out to three seconds, but by the end of the race Malcolm Stewart cut down his lead to 1.5 seconds. Malcolm is looking great tonight in Tampa.
