2021 AMA MOTOCROSS NATIONAL POINT STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 10

Round 10 is over and both motos of the day were full of close battles and impressive finishes by the race winners. Despite so many riders being injured or sick coming into round 10, we were still glad to see plenty of action happen when the gate dropped. Justin Cooper and Dylan Ferrandis were the points leaders heading into round 10 but only kept the red plate after round 10. Scroll down below to find out more as we covered all the action that happened at the 2021 Ironman National.

450 POINT STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 10

Eli Tomac won the overall but Dylan Ferrandis remains in charge with his sizable 50 point gap on Ken Roczen.

It is still pretty amazing the ability Dylan Ferrandis has to be so dominant in the 450 field after a fresh 250 championship the year prior. He was our fastest qualifier in the morning and would win the first moto of the day in the premiere class. In the second moto, it would be Eli Tomac who would win by over nine seconds and the overall, but thanks to his extremely consistent riding, Dylan would finish second, extending his points even more on the competition. Ken Roczen didn’t necessarily struggle throughout the day as he would still finish fourth overall, but Dylan and Eli would simply be riding on another level.

250 POINT STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 10

A bizarre ride by Justin Cooper would mean Jett Lawrence is your new 250 points leader.

Jett Lawrence would be the faster qualifier of the day in the 250 class, but the day would only get more bizarre especially for Star Yamaha as their top 250 riders would underperform. It quickly became apparent that Justin Cooper was underperforming for an unknown reason, possibly still recovering from the sickness that he was dealing with during Budds Creek. However, the one rider that was the wildcard in the championship was Jeremy Martin, tangling in both Jett and Justin’s plans for winning the motos. Except that wouldn’t be the case anymore during the first moto, when Jeremy Martin would side saddle his bike after landing perpendicular to the race track.

Jeremy was seen holding his wrist which has been the case for previous injuries in his career, possibly re-aggravating it. At the end of the day, Justin Cooper finished third overall after 4-4, letting Jett Lawrence swoop in and take the points lead.
