2021 DAYTONA SUPERCROSS | BEST IN THE PITS & PRESS DAY RIDING
Round 9 of the 2021 Supercross season is upon us this Saturday inside Daytona Motor Speedway. If you want to be there to watch the race, but you haven’t already got tickets, too bad, they are sold out. This means you will be watching on the tube (to find out when and where the race airs, click here). The Daytona Supercross marks the halfway point in the 17 round series and at this point, Ken Roczen leads the 450 title chase by 6-points over Cooper Webb. The Daytona track is the most unique round of the year. Not only because it is in the middle of a NASCAR stadium, but also because the track terrain is a mix of outdoors and Supercross that is designed by the GOAT himself, Ricky Carmichael. This can make bike setup difficult for riders.

Justin said via press release: “I was really hoping to be back for Daytona so I am pretty bummed to not be racing this weekend, it wasn’t an easy decision. I know we are capable of another podium, repeating our performance in Houston is my focus, but I can’t compete at this level when I am not 100%.”
Brayton’s time spent racing a stock car last weekend at the MotoCar Fit Klub race was a chance to sit behind a wheel and let the car do the talking. But he’s still not ready to compete at the highest level in Supercross. Justin Brayton went on to say: “I know people watched me compete last week in a car race but racing supercross is a whole other thing, our bodies really take a beating over the course of the night. Turning a steering wheel is so different to hitting whoops and my chest hasn’t fully recovered so I need to make sure it does so I can get the results my team deserves.” Brayton finished.
Mitchell Oldenburg will be racing in the big boy class this weekend. He filled in for Justin Brayton at Orlando #2 and he will do it again this Saturday. Mitchell said via press release: “I wasn’t ready in Orlando; I literally had a day to prepare on a bike I had never ridden so I am glad to have another go and try to do more justice for the team.”

Malcolm Stewart has been riding great this season and he sits sixth in the 450 Championship point standings. Malcolm was a late addition to the Star Racing Yamaha 450 team and so far he’s out performing his teammates, Dylan Ferrandis and Aaron Plessinger.

Garrett Marchbanks won at the Daytona Supercross last year on a Pro Circuit Kawasaki. Now he’s riding for the ClubMx privateer Yamaha team, but he’s already put the bike on the podium at Orlando #2. Can he win it again this year? Justin Cooper and Cameron McAdoo will make it difficult for him.
