450 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS

Malcolm Stewart was the fastest qualifier of the day.

Justin Barcia grabbed the holeshot but it would be Malcolm Stewart who lead the premier class for the first lap around the track. After the first lap, Chase Sexton was still the fastest rider around the track. Dylan Ferrandis would be the first to contest Chase’s lap time, taking the fastest position. Jason Anderson would be the second passing into second, just .03 faster than Chase. But with three minutes left, the riders started finding those secret fast spots breaking into the 43 second lap times. Malcolm Stewart led the field with a 43.568 but would get sideways at the very end of the whoops high siding and tipping over.

450 GROUP A FIRST SESSION

Chase Sexton was the fastest in the first qualifying session.

Jason Anderson and Justin Barcia were the first to try and find a clear track. After a lap, Chase Sexton was the fastest on the field with a 45.32 with Eli Tomac chasing in second and Marvin Musquin in third. With three minutes left, Malcolm Stewart jumped up to first place passing Chase. The top six riders were in the 44 second lap time. Seventh through 16th was in the 45-46 lap time. Some riders like Jason Anderson found a line that completely avoided the dragons back obstacle, overjumping the previous rhythm and landing on the face of the first whoop in the dragons back. This caused the suspension to compress and basically bunny hop over the obstacle. With less than a minute left, Chase Sexton reclaimed his top position.
