2023 AMA SUPERCROSS PRO RIDER NUMBERS
2023 AMA SUPERCROSS & MOTOCROSS PRO RIDER NUMBERS
With the 2023 AMA Supercross season set to kick off at Anaheim 1 this weekend, we wanted to share the updated numbers for the top 100 Pro riders competing in the upcoming 2023 AMA Supercross, Pro Motocross and SMX (SuperMotocross) season. Many of your favorite riders like Ken Roczen, Cooper Webb, Malcolm Stewart, Justin Barcia and Aaron Plessinger will still have their traditional career numbers they’ve ran for the past few seasons, but the young guns like Austin Forkner, Jo Shimoda, Michael Mosiman, Cameron McAdoo, Seth Hammaker and Nick Romano have new numbers for the 2023 season, as they missed out on earning enough points to secure a career number.
On this list is all the riders who still hold an active career number, even if they don’t plan on racing in 2023. As of January 1st, 2023, Ryan Dungey (5) is not expected to race this season, indoors or out. Chad Reed (22) isn’t scheduled to race this year (although we wouldn’t be surprised if he lined up). Justin Brayton announced his retirement from AMA Supercross last year, even though he recently raced the newly formed World Supercross series and the Australian Supercross series.
As for numero uno, Eli Tomac will be the only rider wearing it in 2023. Jett Lawrence could race 250SX East with the 1E on his bike, but he and Team Honda have decided to race the West coast region in 2023. Jett can also use number 1 in the 250 class outdoors, but he’s slated to move to the 450 class for the Nationals. Christian Craig could line up in the 250 West region with the 1W, but he’s moved up to the 450 class full-time with Rockstar Husqvarna.
