250 QUALIFYING RESULTS | DENVER SUPERCROSS (UPDATED)
DENVER SUPERCROSS 250 QUALIFYING RESULTS
For the first time since 1996, the AMA Supercross series is back racing in the mile high city of Denver, Colorado. It’s currently 32 degrees and snowing right now at the track. It’s not quite cold enough for the snow to stick, currently the snow is melting when it hits the ground and it is making for a slick and muddy track at the moment. The Dirt Wurx crew has been massaging the track to make it the best they possibly can for the riders and fans. Coming into Denver, Adam Cianciarulo holds a five point lead over Dylan Ferrandis in the 250 West Championship. With only two rounds left in the 250 West class, the pressure is on for Adam and Dylan who are both looking for the first Championship of their career.

The riders are dealing with cold weather, snow falling, a slick track and slower bikes in Denver. With the elevation at 5,228 feet, the bikes are searching for air. Engines suck in air and the amount of fuel an engine can burn is limited by how much air it can suck in. When the air is less dense, the amount of air in the engine cylinder is less, so the power output is less. With the mile high elevation, the bikes are suffering a 10-12% power loss. This is going to make it even more difficult to for riders to clear the jumps that are normally easy for the top riders.
