250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS | 2021 ARLINGTON SUPERCROSS 3

The West Coast 250 class is back in AT&T Stadium for the twelfth round of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season. At the round prior, we saw a huge shake-up in the points lead involving Cameron McAdoo and Hunter Lawrence. After having a get-off in the whoops and rejoining the track at a later point than where he left, Cameron was docked several positions in the official results, making Hunter’s win over the Kawi rider, even more valuable. Now, Hunter sits on top of the points lead, but where is Justin Cooper? Justin has been known at this point to set the fastest lap times in qualifying but unfortunately, has struggled to get in front of the pack when the time comes for the Main Events. Will Justin grab another very lap time, or will see someone dethrone the lap time leaderboard king? Find out down below as we report LIVE from Arlington, Texas.

250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS

Will Hunter Lawrence be able to hold onto the red plate after Arlington 3?

The second qualifying session took and Seth Hammaker grabbed the holeshot in front of Ty Masterpool. Soon the entire Pro Circuit Kawasaki team was following each other around the track with Cameron in the lead, Seth in second, and Jordon Smith in third. Cameron McAdoo grabbed the fastest lap time but it was Jalek Swoll who made the pass for the fastest lap time. However, that lead didn’t last long as Cameron McAdoo took his position back in the timed qualifying. This qualifying was actually quite surprising how close it was, with only three seconds separating first to 18th. The 2020 Arenacross champ, Kyle Peters, moved up to third place with five minutes remaining. Hunter Lawrence moved past Kyle with a 50.2 second lap time. Several berms were knocking over several of the 250 riders, Seth Hammaker, Mitchell Harrison, and Carson Mumford. Justin Cooper broke into the 49 second lap time, beating out Cameron for the first place position. But Cameron set an exceptionally fast lap, just beating out Justin Cooper. But it wouldn’t be an interesting qualifying session for the fastest lap time betaken away from Justin Cooper to grab the lead away on the very last lap.

250 GROUP A FIRST QUALIFYING SESSION

Justin Cooper eyeing up the track.

The first qualifying session took off and Mitchell Harrison squeezed to the front but Jordon Smith passed him a turn later to get a clear track. Jordon quickly set the fastest lap time with Justin Cooper on his heel. Garrett Marchbanks quickly took away the top position away from the Pro Circuit Kawi rider.  Cameron McAdoo moved to the top a whole lap later and Jordon Smith followed, passing Garrett for second. Nate Thrasher moved into fourth place with Hunter Lawrence in fifth. Cameron’s lap time was within the 50 second margin, showing that the length of the Arlington 3 track is within standard Supercross length. Hunter Lawrence set a fast lap time, moving up to third place but not quite as fast as Justin Cooper, who moved up to second. Eventually, Jordon Smith passed the Australian rider, pushing Hunter down to fourth, just ahead of Seth Hammaker. By the end of qualifying, Cameron McAdoo was almost a whole second faster than second place, but Justin Cooper barely squeezed by for the top position once again qualifying.

Stilez and Jalek hanging out in the stands all geared up. Are they pointing at the track, Monster Energy girls, or someone casing a quad? We may never know.
