250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS // 2023 DETROIT SUPERCROSS

The 250 East Coast Championship has made it’s way to the Motor City for the half way point of the season. Despite being an East Coast track, Detroit’s dirt typically forms differently that the rest of it’s coastal counterparts. Where Indy was extremely rutty and technical, Detroit shapes up to be hard, slick, and slippery, which is something we didn’t think we’d be saying this early in the morning.

Anyways, Hunter Lawrence has the 250 East Coast class in a chokehold as the rest of the field struggles to maintain consistent finishes. The podium each weekend flip flops as the riders play leap frog in the points. Scroll down below to find out which 250 rider will be the fastest amongst the class and stay tuned to Motocross Action as we report all the action LIVE from Detroit!

250 GROUP A QUALIFYING RESULTS (SESSION 2 OF 2)

Hunter Lawrence secured the holeshot for the second qualifying session and would be .004 of a second off of his fastest lap time from the first session. One lap later, Hunter shaved off even more time breaking into the 52 second lap time being the second fastest rider out of the entire day before the second 450 qualifying session. As the qualifying session continued, second through fourth would be filled with all of the Group A Yamaha riders including Nate Thrasher, Jordon Smith, Haiden Deegan, and Jeremy Martin. But with two minutes left, Hunter would get an even more impressive lap time of 51.999.

Both Jordon Smith and Nate Thrasher would break into the 52 second lap time but Hunter Lawrence would remain to be the fastest 250 rider in Detroit.

250 GROUP A QUALIFYING RESULTS (SESSION 1 OF 2)

Hunter Lawrence would be the fastest rider in the first qualifying session.

Nate Thrasher showed off an impressive lap time right off at the beginning of the first qualifying session. However just a couple laps later, Nate would miss a whoop with his front tire ejecting the Yamaha rider from the bike and getting off pretty easily. Except the bike wasn’t fond off Nate, rolling back around and laying on top of him. Thankfully a track worker was right there to help out and Nate continued the qualifying session. Hunter Lawrence would secure the fastest time followed up by Jordon Smith and Max Anstie.

Hunter would also be the only rider to break into the 53 second lap time margin.
