250 QUALIFYING RESULTS // 2023 INDIANAPOLIS SUPERCROSS
The Indianapolis Supercross is the ninth Round of the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross season, but it is only the fifth Round of the 250SX East Coast division. Hunter Lawrence has won three of four races so far (Houston, Tampa, and Daytona), with Nate Thrasher grabbing the win at the Arlington SX Triple Crown. Last weekend, Hunter made quick work of Nate Thrasher on the opening lap of the Main Event, making an aggressive pass that resulted in Thrasher eating a face full of sand. Then, Thrasher crashed hard later in the race, further hindering his chances at the 250SX title. Max Anstie has been the second-best rider of the season and he’s currently second in points, with rookie phenom, Haiden Deegan, living up to the hype and sitting third in the 250SX East Coast point standings.

250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS
The points leader, Hunter Lawrence, starts off strong at Indy.
In the second 250SX East coast qualifier, it was Hunter Lawrence who started the practice in first after the scrimmage-style qualifying session gate drop. His rival, Nate Thrasher, was behind him in second. The track is much better now for the second qualifier after the Dirt Wurx crew spent the intermission time between Q1 and Q2 to prep the rutted sections of the track. Right away, Hunter Lawrence jumped to the top of the leader boards with a low 46-second lap time, over a second faster than Jordon Smith who was quickest in Q1.
In the end, Hunter Lawrence’s time held best with Star Racing Yamaha’s Jordon Smith scoring second quickest.

250 GROUP A QUALIFYING SESSION ONE RESULTS
Hunter Lawrence locked in for Round five of the 250 East series
Yes, the Indianapolis Supercross is known for being soft and rutted, but this year’s track seems to be even softer than before. For 250 Group A, qualifying session two, the track is littered with ruts all the way across the lines and all the way up the faces of each jump. You can really tell the whoops are rutted and soft when the riders are jumping through them on lap one of the first qualifying session.
Jordon Smith had the fastest time early in 250SX session one, then Max Anstie topped his time for a brief moment, and then Jordon Smith logged another hot lap to take the top spot.
