250 QUALIFYING RESULTS // 2023 TAMPA SUPERCROSS

Tampa Supercross is here and you may have noticed a slight update to look of the pros bikes. Yep, it’s the military appreciation round breaking apart from the typical San Diego round where gear and graphics are dressed up in camo. While the series just started for the 250 East Coast class, they’re still plenty of competition between the top ranks in the lites class with heavy hitters like Hunter Lawrence, Jordon Smith, Nate Thrasher, Michael Mosiman, Haiden Deegan, and a surprise to many, Max Anstie. Hunter Lawrence is the quickest in Tampa.

Jordon Smith who sat second fastest, was .4 of a second slower than Hunter.

250 GROUP A QUALIFYING RESULTS (SESSION 2 OF 2)

The second qualifying session kicked off and Max Anstie would be get to the top of leaderboard fairly quickly but not as quick as Jordon Smith’s first session lap time. The sand was proving to be even more challenging than before with deep ruts stretching across the entire section. The top three would eventually be three red riders, Max Anstie, Hunter Lawrence, and Chance Hymas.

With two minutes left, the fastest lap time in both sessions would be conquered by Hunter Lawrence.

250 GROUP A QUALIFYING RESULTS (SESSION 1 OF 2)

Max was second fastest in qualifying.

Hunter Lawrence was quick to get out front and get a clear lap free of people tipped over in the sand section. Right away the lap times were pretty short considering the length of the sand straight away that the riders have to navigate. Halfway through the qualifying session, Hunter Lawrence would set a perfect 51.000, and Max Anstie would set a 51.009.

Eventually the two would improve their lap times with Hunter jumping down to a 49.708 and Max Anstie with a 50.476. Hunter would break the mold dropping into the 49 second margin.
