250 QUALIFYING RESULTS | 2020 WW RANCH FLORIDA NATIONAL

The 2020 Pro Motocross series has just three rounds to go and Dylan Ferrandis, Jeremy Martin, Rj Hampshire, Jett Lawrence, Alex Martin and the rest of the 250 class are all ready to get round seven of the 2020 season underway at the 2020 WW Ranch National in Florida. After an intense battle in 250 Moto 2 at Millville just one week ago, the Frenchman, Dylan Ferrandis was able to beat Jeremy Martin at his home track and take back the points lead heading into the Florida, Colorado and California Nationals. Last year, it was extremely hot and humid when we were racing at in Jacksonville, Florida, at the WW Ranch. This year, we have a high of 90-degrees and humidity projected to be around 60 percent at the heat of the day with higher humidity levels in the morning and evening.

250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS

Dylan Ferrandis is your quickest 250 rider today in Florida. 

Within the second round of qualifying, Jeremy Martin sat on top in the first few laps with a 2:07.594 but it didn’t take long for the fastest session 1 qualifier Dylan Ferrandis to take the position away. Jeremy then sat second in the second session of qualifying followed by Jo Shimoda. The young Australian Jett Lawrence then snuck into that position and put on a charge to try to reach Dylan’s lap time. However, the track was a little bit rougher and across the board, we saw slightly slower lap times compared to session 1. Justin Cooper and teammate and Shane McElrath both sat in fourth and fifth pushing Jo Shimoda back down to sixth. We expected Justin Cooper to do pretty well at this race as he was last year’s overall winner and his only overall win. He showed some great speed in the first round of qualifying and we would see the same in the second. As the second round of qualifying started to finish we noticed all the riders not charging as hard realizing that all the fastest lap times were in the first round of qualifying. With one lap left Justin Cooper sped past the Australian to get the second fastest lap time of the second session and overall qualifying.

Justin Cooper was the second-fastest 250 rider in qualifying

250 GROUP A SESSION 1 QUALIFYING RESULTS

Derek Drake was third fastest in the first qualifying session at WW Ranch. This track last year was also where most people first learned about Derek Drake when he grabbed the holeshot as a rookie and led many laps before crashing. 

Dylan Ferrandis is kicking off Round 7 where he left off at Round 6, in first. He was the quickest in the first 250 Qualifying session, but most surprising might be Troy Lee Designs Red Bull KTM rider Derek Drake who was third fastest in the first session. He has good memories from this track and it would be great to see him up front again challenging the leaders in Florida.
