250 MAIN EVENT RESULTS | 2021 ATLANTA SUPERCROSS 3

The races are back at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the third and final round of the Atlanta tripleheader before the riders and teams head to Salt Lake City for the finale. The track is brutally long and the rhythm is relentless at round 15 as the track features too many jumps to count, 18 whoops, and two sand sections. The fastest in the 250s are taking risks that we’ve already seen bite back in qualifying. Cameron McAdoo had another scary get-off on the Georgia clay as the 31 lost traction going up the face of the Supercross triple, being ejected from the bike, and hitting the deck hard. The already banged-up rider had only three days of rest in between the rounds to recoup from his previous crash sustained at Atlanta 2. Cameron’s teammate Seth Hammaker also crashed hard in one of the rhythm sections, limping off the track. In qualifying, it was Hunter Lawrence who grabbed the fastest lap time with Justin Cooper getting second and Cameron McAdoo in third. Hunter Lawrence’s lap time was almost a whole second faster than Justin Cooper and we suspect that the whoops may be one of the biggest factors of this heading into the night show. So which 250 rider will get the final win in Atlanta Motor Speedway? Find out down below as we report all the action LIVE from round 15 of the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season.

250 MAIN EVENT RESULTS

The racing was close in the 250 Main Event.

Justin Cooper grabbed the holeshot but Cameron McAdoo, Chris Blose, and Derek Kelly would be involved in another crash, causing a red flag and a restart of the race. The 250 Main took off once again with Justin Cooper grabbing another holeshot his teammate Nate Thrasher in second. Cameron McAdoo and Hunter battled but would nearly bump into Cameron and crash off the side of the track. Seth made a mistake in the whoops and a crash chain reaction occurred causing Cameron McAdoo, Pierce Brown, and Coty Schock to be caught up in the mix. Kyle Peters, Dilan Schwartz, and more made their way past the Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider. Cameron now sat back in ninth place with only ten minutes remaining to make it happen.  Garrett Marchbanks ran straight into the side of Cameron without ever making the intent to turn. Now Cameron’s KX250 begun to smoke. Justin’s lead grew so much that if he won the race with where everyone was placed, he would win the championship before even heading to Salt Lake City. Justin Cooper let his teammate make the pass and Nate Thrasher took the lead. Seth Hammaker made his way into third place with Jalek Swoll in fourth. Nate Thrasher would win the Main Event after winning the LCQ for the second time his rookie season.
