250 OVERALL RACE RESULTS // 2023 CHICAGO SMX PLAYOFF #2
Supermotocross Playoff round #2 in Chicago is a double-point paying event. The final event is worth triple, so the value of results increases drastically as we conclude the season. Each finish matters, and it wins a critical for riders like Haiden Deegan and Levi Kitchen. Hunter Lawrence does sit on a mild lead from runner-up Haiden Deegan, but a lot can change in just a matter of motos. Check out the results below!
250 OVERALL RESULTS
Justin Cooper, who was down in the first moto got the holeshot in moto two, followed by Jo Shimoda and Hunter Lawrence. Ryder Difrancesco was pushing hard, trying to make a move on Hunter Lawrence from the fourth position. Jo Shimoda would go after Justin Cooper, eventually making the pass about five minutes into the moto. Haiden Deegan started around fifth but decided to join the group before him for a battle. Around mid-way, Tom Vialle was putting down the quickest lap times and found his way around Haiden Deegan. Only a couple of seconds were separating the top five riders. Tom Vialle would make his way up to third and settle in behind the battle of Jo Shimoda and Hunter Lawrence. unfortunately for Vialle, he would crash out and not finish the moto. Towards the end, Jo Shimoda appeared to have possible bike issues as he began looking down at the machine; Hunter Lawrence would easily make the pass on him. Jo would remount, though, and not allow Haiden Deegan to pass either. Hunter would go on to win the moto and take the overall.

250 MOTO ONE RESULTS
In the first moto, Haiden Deegan got an amazing holeshot from the outside gates. At first, it appeared Hunter Lawrence would get the start, but Deegan slid in to take the lead. Hunter Lawrence would then battle Tom Vialle and Jo Shimoda behind him. Unfortunately, riders like Justin Cooper and Ryder Difrancesco would crash in opening laps and have to start in the back. Midway through the moto, Deegan looked strong, though he was not pulling from Hunter Lawrence. Haiden was pulling out a massive triple from the wall jump, which was just his style. Towards the end of the moto, Haiden Deegan makes the mistake that Hunter Lawrence was waiting for and almost falls in the turn before the finish line. Hunter would capitalize and take over the lead. In the end, Jo Shimoda would come to life and make the pass on Tom Vialle and then start his attack on Haiden Deegan. Jo was on fire in the last five minutes of racing and made the past on Deegan; he then went after Lawrence but came up shy. Hunter Lawrence would go on to win the moto.
