450 OVERALL RACE RESULTS | IRONMAN PRO MOTOCROSS NATIONAL
The 2020 AMA Pro Racing Motocross Championship in the 450 class has got off to an unexpected start. With two rounds down, Zach Osborne led the 450 field by 19 points over the Frenchman, Marvin Musquin. The three-time 450 National Motocross champ, Eli Tomac hasn’t been his dominating self this year. Does he have a hangover from winning his first 450 Supercross championship? Is he racing injured? Is he just off the pace? After only two rounds Tomac is 40 points behind the points leader Zach Osborne. That is a huge gap that early in the season. However, as we know, anything can happen. Here is how the third round of the 450 AMA Pro Motocross Championship shaped up at the Ironman racetrack.

450 OVERALL RACE RESULTS | IRONMAN RACEWAY
Eli Tomac took his first win of the season at Ironman Raceway.
Zach Osborne took the holeshot followed by Adam Cianciarulo, Musquin and Tomac. Eli Tomac made quick work of Marvin Muquin in the first lap where he took third place. The Monster Energy Kawasaki riders put the pressure on the Husqvarna rider. Some of the more notable riders in the first moto got less than desirable starts including Chase Sexton and Blake Baggett. Adam Cianciarulo passed Osborne within a few laps and then it became Tomac’s mission to pass him. Justin Barcia eventually passed Marvin Muaquin for 4th place. Chase Sexton gained a couple of positions making his way to 7th place which would eventually lead to a battle with Blake Baggett that Chase would win. Max Anstie crashed hard coming into the final turn of the track. Barcia closed the gap on Tomac and the two made the pass on Osborne after Osborne made a mistake in a turn. The top 3 were all within 3 seconds of each other. Tomac and Barcia both made the pass on Cianciarulo shortly followed by Osborne passing Adam as well. The two leaders got closer and closer as they put down the fastest lap times of the race. With one minute and 2 laps left, Tomac’s bike started smoking making us all wonder if the engine was bound to fail like how it did in the last round of Loretta Lynn’s. Chase Sexton eventually passed Marvin Musquin. Barcia caught up to Tomac but it was already too late for the Yamaha Rider. Eli Tomac took first place with Justin Barcia taking the second and Zach Osborne taking the third.

450 MOTO 1 RESULTS | IRONMAN NATIONAL
Marvin Musquin gets his first moto win of the season in the first 450 class moto.
Marvin Musquin scored the holeshot and quickly after, a massive pileup occurred by Justin Bogle hitting a large hay bill off the side of the track resulting in Bogle and a few others being ejected from their bikes. Eli Tomac got a good start along with Osborne and Anstie. From out of nowhere, Cianciarulo jumped from 10th to 4th all within the first two laps. Savatgy crashed hard and walked off the track. Blake Baggett pushed from 8th into the lead pack passing Freddie Noren and Max Anstie and wasn’t long that Jason Anderson found the momentum and pushed passed the two Suzuki riders. Osborne and Cianciarulo started battling for third place with Chase Sexton following them closely. The heat was on as the top 5 started running extremely close lap times and were all within 10 seconds of each other. Little halfway through the first moto, the top 5 started spreading apart a little bit. Tomac was the only one left pushing for the first place position Musquin held. Despite having a really gnarly crash in the beginning of the race Bogle continued to push hard throughout the race. Zach Osborne, unfortunately, ran into the back of a lapper and Adam Cianciarulo jumped over the two lying on the ground. Osborne drops down to 5th place letting Cianciarulo and Sexton pass. Osborne made another mistake and Baggett made the pass for 5th place. The white flag came out and Chase Sexton and Adam Cianciarulo continued to battle for 3rd place. Musquin continued to put some distance in between him and Tomac and takes 1st place.

The factory Honda rider of Chase Sexton rode well. He rode with Adam Cianciarulo for most of the moto to finish 4th.
The 450 points leader Zach Osborne had a rough first moto in Indiana. He started the moto off strong but ran into a lapper and made some other mistakes pushing him back to 7th.
