450 QUALIFYING RESULTS // 2023 TAMPA SUPERCROSS

The sixth round of the 2023 Supercross season is upon us and things are exciting as ever in the 450 class. Eli Tomac held onto the red plate at Houston despite Chase Sexton being the quickest on the track. But we’re at a new round now which means anything can happen. But before anything gets crazy during the night show, we have to figure out who’s quickest in the football stadium. While the sand may be the biggest factor of the track, we can’t forget that Dirt Wurx layed out 14 whoops in a row for these riders to hit.

The qualifying results for the 450 class are presented to you by FXR.

450 GROUP A QUALIFYING RESULTS (SESSION 2 OF 2)

Chase would be the fastest qualifier in Tampa.

Eli Tomac secured the holeshot in the second qualifying session. For a split second we would see Ken Roczen’s Suzuki makes it’s way up to the top of the leaderboard, but a tenth of a second later would be surpassed by Chase Sexton.

With 5 minutes left, Jason Anderson threw down a blistering fast lap, sitting at a 48.599 making it the faster than Chase Sexton’s previous 48.771 that he had in the first session.

Eli Tomac would join the 48 second club also passing Chase’s time by .06 of a second.

But within the last laps of the second session, Chase regained his top reigning position.

450 GROUP A QUALIFYING RESULTS (SESSION 1 OF 2)

Chase would set an impressive lap time, being the only rider in the 48 second lap time.

It only took five minutes for one of the 450 riders to set a lap time faster than the 250 class. Chase was quickest to set a lap time on top of the board but eventually the series points leader Eli Tomac would catch up. A surprisingly fast lap time was set by Adam Cianciarulo who has been rebuilding his racing career this season slowly and steadily. Adam’s time would be almost half a second faster than Chase’s but Cooper Webb would eventually snag the second place position.

But as impressed as we were with Adam’s time of 49.051, Chase Sexton swept the top with a 48.771.
