450 QUALIFYING RESULTS // 2023 ANAHEIM 1 SUPERCROSS
The 2023 Anaheim 1 Supercross is officially here and the excitement is at an all time as we wait to see which riders will rise to the occasion in the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross season. The Angel Stadium and all of Southern California has been experiencing some serious rain this past week, but the Dirt Wurx crew has done a great job of keeping the track covered. The only part of the track that wasn’t built yet, on Friday before the race, was the whoop section after the finish line.
Motocross Action is all-in on the 2023 AMA Supercross season and, like in years past, we’ll have boots on the ground at every race. Check below for 450SX qualifying results being updated throughout the day, as they cross the line, at Angel Stadium. Also, click the ‘Full Coverage’ link for more interviews and results from A1.

450 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS
Chase Sexton scored the fastest time on his HRC Honda CRF450.
The track conditions were challenging for the free practice and first qualifying sessions. However, during a brief intermission between session one and session two of qualifying, the Dirt Wurx crew was able to do some serious track maintenance, grooming basically everything except for the two whoop sections. The rust of the track is still soft underneath and the ruts are starting to come back, but they aren’t as bad as they were earlier in the day. We expect the track to only get better as the night goes on. By the time the Main Event gate drops, it should be primo racing conditions.
In the second 450 Qualifying session we saw crashes from multiple big name riders. Jason Anderson crashed again, but he was ok. Christian Craig crashed hard, though. Craig went down in the whoops and lay motionless for about 20-seconds before he seemed to “come to” and proceed to get up off the ground and go searching for his bike. The Alpinestars medics were there talking to him, but he deemed that he was good enough to get back on the bike and ride away. Then, after stopping in the mechanic’s area, Christian Craig pulled out of the session and rode back to the pits.

450 GROUP A QUALIFYING RESULTS: SESSION 1
Marvin Musquin sets the fastest time in the first 450 Qualifying session.
The first 450 Qualifying session of the year was very eventful. Jason Anderson was looking strong at the beginning, but he had a massive crash in a rhythm section, going over the bars. He was shaken up at first and looked like he hit his head and his check hard in the crash. Jason took his helmet off for about 30-seconds before throwing it back on, straightening out his front wheel in the mechanics area, and going back out on the track.
The track is very technical this weekend with how rutted the transitions are and how soft the dirt is underneath. Marvin Musquin’s crafty riding technique always excels in the technical conditions and tonight could be a great night for the #25.
