450 RACE RESULTS | 2021 SALT LAKE CITY SUPERCROSS 1
The 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season has reached its final destination of the season, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The championship is coming down to the wire with Cooper Webb leading the premier class and rival Ken Roczen in second place. There is a 16 point gap between the two premier class riders and we’re hoping it comes to the final race of the season to see who will become the champion. In timed qualifying, we saw Eli Tomac grab the fastest qualifying time. We expected the 2020 champ to perform well under the conditions provided by Salt Lake City as Eli has plenty of experience training at high altitudes thanks to his Colorado training grounds. Cooper Webb also performed very well, landing in second place. We’re excited to see the battle between the top competitors in the 450 class and we’re crossing our fingers that the championship comes down to the final race of the season. Scroll down below to see what happens as the races commence and stay tuned to Motocross Action as we report all the coverage LIVE from Salt Lake City.

450 MAIN EVENT RESULTS
Ken Roczen was the first across the holeshot line in the 450 Main Event while rival Cooper Webb was buried in the pack. Joey Savatgy and Marvin Musquin chased in second and third but Joey Savatgy slipped out, slowing the pack. Jason Anderson and Coper Webb then chased in third and fourth with Malcolm Stewart in fifth. Ken Roczen’s lead grew to almost three seconds on Marvin Musquin with 16 minutes remaining. Despite his nasty crash in qualifying, Chase Sexton was also riding well, sitting in sixth place. Malcolm gained significant speed through the whoops on Cooper Webb and already the lappers started playing a factor, and we weren’t even halfway through the race yet. At nine minutes remaining, Cooper Webb made the pass on Jason Anderson.
Marvin then started to close the gap and Ken tipped over before the whoops, dropping to fifth place. Cooper Webb began to close the gap on Marvin Musquin but Marvin would hold his ground and not let Cooper take the win.
It was going well for Ken Roczen…
…until he crashed before the whoops.
450 HEAT 2 RACE RESULTS
Eli would win the second Heat Race.
Eli Tomac led the second Heat Race with Malcolm Stewart and Dylan Ferrandis in second and third. Ken Roczen got a horrible start but managed to make his way up to fourth, sitting five seconds behind the leader. Ken Roczen made his way around Ferrandis while Malcolm Stewart put the heat on high behind Eli Tomac. Eli would win the second Heat Race.
Malcolm Stewart did not let Eli Tomac have a breathing moment.
450 HEAT 1 RACE RESULTS
Cooper Webb grabbed the holeshot with his teammate, Marvin Musquin running second. Justin Barcia had a small pill but it appeared his radiator busted open, spewing fluid everywhere. Aaron Plessinger ran in third with Chase Seton in fourth place. Unlike the 250s, the racing was close but the line choices were extremely limited, letting only one line be the option. Marvin Musquin slipped over and dropped several positions. Chase made his way around Aaron but Cooper would walk away with another Heat win.
Jason Anderson would finish in third.
450 LCQ RESULTS
Justin Barcia in the LCQ?
One rider we don’t normally see in the LCQ is Justin Barcia, but after a tip over in the Heat Race, his bike would suffer a mechanical and he was forced to the LCQ. Justin Barcia immediately put down fast lap times, leaving the rest of the 450 LCQ in the dust. Freddie Noren chased in second place with Henry Miller in third.
