AMA PRO RIDER NUMBERS FOR THE 2026 SEASON
Each offseason, AMA assigns national numbers for the next year based on combined points from Supercross and Pro Motocross. In other words, the points riders earn in the 2025 season determine their 2026 numbers. The defending champions run the number one plate in their class, while the rest of the top finishers are assigned numbers according to their total points. Riders who already hold a career number keep it regardless of yearly standings. Champions also have the option to choose a permanent number, and in some cases, riders who consistently score high across multiple seasons can earn a permanent two-digit number as well.
