2004 YAMAHA YZ125

What’s new on the 04 YZ125?
1. The shape of the scavenging port and exhaust port is changed (the timing is also revised)
2. The setting on the YPVS governor spring is changed for better acceleration in the low to mid.
3. The carb setting at the bypass port is changed.
4. The exhaust pipe is increased in overall length by 5mm, mostly at the head pipe (not on European models).
6. The diameter of the stinger is increased 1.6mm (in front of the silencer)
7. The shift pedal is downsized 9mm for less interference.
8. The ignition coil is downsized from 51.5mm to 44mm (saving 89 grams).
9. The front exhaust pipe mounting bracket is now aluminum.
10. The clutch cable has been reduced from 8mm to 6mm.
11. The top triple clamp steering stem and ring nut are now aluminum.
12. 48mm Kayaba forks replace last years 46mm forks.
13. New front brake master cylinder with a nylon float under the diaphragm.
14. Titanium footpegs (saving 130 grams).

What’s new on the 04 YZ250F?
1. Cylinder has larger cutaway to lessen pumping pressure loss.
2. The steel oil lines of 03 are now aluminum to save 100 grams.
3. The head pipe and pipe guard are titanium (saving 190 grams).
4. The thickness of the head tube frame gusset has been decreased 0.2mm (saving 20 grams).
5. Two new throttle cables save 60 grams.
6. The clutch cable has been reduced from 8mm to 6mm.
7. The top triple clamp steering stem and ring nut are now aluminum.
8. 48mm Kayaba forks replace last years 46mm forks.
9. New front brake master cylinder with a nylon float under the diaphragm.
10. Titanium footpegs (saving 130 grams).

5. The top triple clamp steering stem and ring nut are now aluminum.

1. Clutch cable routing have been moved to the left side of the engine.
2. The clutch is activated by a new push lever arm and the angle of the arm has been changed.
3. A totally new clutch basket and pinion gear are used to lessen chatter.
4. The top triple clamp steering stem and ring nut are now aluminum.
5. 48mm Kayaba forks replace last years 46mm forks.
6. New front brake master cylinder with a nylon float under the diaphragm.
7. Titanium footpegs (saving 130 grams).
