450 RACE RESULTS FROM THE 2019 BUDDS CREEK NATIONAL
The 2019 AMA Outdoor Nationals are in Mechanicsville, Maryland for the 30th annual Budds Creek National. The Budds Creek track sits less than 50 miles from our nations Capital in Washington D.C. Eli Tomac is came into round 11 with a 40-point lead over Marvin Musquin and a 41-point lead over Ken Roczen. With the final round of the season coming up in just one week, Eli was pushing hard to wrap up the title one round early. He only needed to score ten points more than Marvin Musquin and nine points more than Ken Roczen. With Ken Roczen dealing with health issues, he would tire out in the second race and scoring 2-7 Moto finishes while Marvin Musquins 3-3 results would allow Eli to wrap up the 2019 450 Pro Motocross Championship at Budds Creek.

Eli Tomac’s 1-1 scores allowed him to win the 2019 AMA Outdoor National Championship.
Zach Osborne grabbed the holeshot in 450 Moto 2, but it was Eli Tomac who dove up in the inside on the first turn and beat Osborne to the second corner. Ken Roczen quickly made his way into second and then on lap two Jason Anderson would push Marvin Musquin off the track and shortly after he passed his teammate Zach Osborne. Marvin Musquin quickly regrouped and got back on the track behind Anderson. Ken Roczen put on a charge early in the Moto and he was able to stick closer to Tomac than he did in the first race, but by the halfway point Eli Tomac was able to extend his gap while Jason Anderson began to close in on Roczen. After applying pressure, Jason would make the pass and inherit second over Ken Roczen who seemed to be tiring out. Shortly after Jason made the move, Marvin Musquin, Zach Osborne and Justin Barcia would all make moves to get around Roczen. With Ken dropping to sixth and Marvin in third, Eli Tomac mathematically would win go on to finish 1-1 on the day and win Championship one round early.

450 MOTO 1 RESULTS
Eli Tomac wins the first 450 Moto of the day at Budds Creek.
Justin Bogle grabbed the holeshot with Eli Tomac second. Bogle held on to the lead for almost the entire first lap, but Eli made an aggressive move around the outside of Justin on the landing of Henry’s hill. Ken Roczen made his way around Justin Bogle just two turns after Eli and he would begin to put the pressure on the former points leader. With 19-minutes left in the race Marvin Musquin would make the pass on Justin Bogle to grab the third place position. Zach Osborne and Justin Barcia quickly caught up to Justin Bogle to battle for fourth. The three riders jumped over Henry’s hill three-wide as Osborne took over fourth, Barcia fifth and Bogle sixth. Soon after, Jason Anderson made the move on Bogle as well. The privateer John Short ran tenth at the halfway point of the Moto. Eli Tomac went on to win the Moto with Ken Roczen second, and Marvin Musquin third. Jason Anderson and Zach Osborne put on a hard charge at the end of the race, but neither of them were able to pass their training partner Marvin Musquin.
