250 RACE RESULTS | FOX RACEWAY MOTOCROSS NATIONAL
The ninth round of the 2020 AMA Pro Motocross National Championship is the last round of the series held in Califnoaira on the Pala Indian reservation at Fox Raceway. Since Fox Raceway is on reservation land, the same laws and regulations don’t apply. This will be the first National of the year that you can purchase tickets to the event and be a normal spectator.
In the 250 class, it is all about the Frenchman Dylan Ferrandis. He has an 18-point lead to the 2-time champ, Jeremy Martin. Jeremy is in a tough position as Ferrandis already has a 450 ride locked down for 2021, whereas Martin’s Geico team sounds like it is going under and he does not have a 450 ride lined up. Also, history tells us that Freshman riders who led coming into the last round of the Nationals have had a hard time locking up the title. The question is can Ferrandis overcome the Frenchman curse or will Martin prove himself for a 450 ride in 2021.

Shane McElrath grabbed the holeshot with Jeremy Martin in second. It should be noted that Justin Cooper’s Star Racing Yamaha’s bike broke on the sighting lap. The Geico Honda rider moved to the front of the Star Racing riders allowing Martin to move to the front. On the sixth lap Ferrandis was 7th place pushing through the pack. Martin pulled a big lead while Ferrandis got up to fifth place not far behind his teammate McElrath. With two laps to go the positions haven’t changed meaning as it was Ferranids who would win the championship. Jeremy Martin may have won the second moto and his teammate Jett Lawrence may have won his first Pro win of his career, but it was the Frenchman, Dylan Ferrandis who won the 2020 National 250 championship.
