2020 GLENDALE SUPERCROSS 250 OVERALL RESULTS

The West Coast 250 Supercross class is heating up. Justin Cooper had the red plate coming into the forth round of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross series with a 12 point lead over his Star Racing Yamaha teammate, Dylan Ferrandis. Ferrandis was the center of attention as he got booed from the Anaheim 2 crowd for bumping rubber with the Gecio Honda riders.

The Triple Crown Format is back for 2020 and Glendale will be hosting the first of three Triple Crown events this season. The other two Triple Crown races will be held in Arlington, Texas, on February 22nd, and at the penultimate round in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 25th. It’s always interesting to see how the riders perform in the shorter three-race format. For a full breakdown on how it works, read below:

Triple Crown format breakdown:
The top 18 from the overall fastest qualifying times during the day will advance straight to the main event. There will then be an LCQ that add four more riders for a total of 22 racers in the main event. During the night show, there won’t be any heat races or LCQ’s but each class will have three main events. The 250SX class will compete in three 10-minute main events, while the 450SX class will compete in three 12-minute main events. An Olympic-style scoring method will be used to determine an overall winner in each class from all three main events where the lowest combined score at the end will be awarded the overall win.

250 OVERALL RESULTS 

Austin Forkner wins the forth round. 

250 MAIN EVENT 3 RESULTS

Justin Cooper took the third 250 main event win.  

Justin Cooper got off to the lead position in the third 250 main event with Martin Castelo second and Brandon Hartranft third. Castelo drooped back to fifth fast with Hartranft to second, Ferrandis to third and Forkner to forth. Ferrandis and Forker moved past Hartranft. Cooper went on to win the third 250 main event with Ferrandis second, Forkner third, Hartranft forth and Hayes fifth.

250 MAIN EVENT 2 RESULTS

Austin Forkner makes it two in a row.  

Justin Cooper got out to an early lead but went down fast putting Derek Drake in first with Austin Forkner in second and Michael Mosiman in third. Christin Craig went down hard and did not finish the race. Ferrandis was again in forth and hot on Mosiman’s tail. Derek rode really good keeping Forkner at bay until the six lap where Austin got by the TLD KTM rider. Ferrandis also took charge of the third position over Mosiman. Ferrandis started putting down the fastest lap times of the main to catch Drake for second. By lap eight, Justin Cooper moved up to 13th. Dylan moved into second with only a few laps to go to catch the leader Forkner who had a three second lead. Austin Forkner took the second 250 main event of the night making it two in a row.

250 MAIN EVENT 1 OVERALL RESULTS 

Austin Forker took the first 250 Supercross main event win in Glendale. 

Off the start it was the Kawasaki Pro Circuit rider of Austin Forkner who got out to the early lead in the first 250 Supercross main event. On the six lap it was the Factory Husqvarna rider of Michael Mosiman in second place with the Frenchman Dylan Ferrandis rounding out the top three. Ferrandis made the pass on Mosiman for second spot on the seventh lap with the Gecio Honda rider Christian Craig not far behind. Craig made the pass for third with Mosiman dropping back to forth. Forkner had a good four second gap on Ferrandis heading into the final lap of the 10 plus l lap main event. Forker locked up the first 250 main event win with Ferrandis, Craig, Mosiman and Hartranft rounding out the top five.
