2020 GLENDALE SUPERCROSS | 250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS
It’s Saturday and the 2020 Glendale Supercross is underway as the 250 riders hit the track for their qualifying sessions. So far, in the 250 West division (and the 450 class) we’ve had three different winners at the first three rounds of the season. Justin Cooper won at the Anaheim 1 season opener when Austin Forkner made a mistake, then Forkner rebounded to grab the win at his home state race in St. Louis, Missouri at round two. Justin Cooper was consistent and he came through the pack to finish second at round two while Dylan Ferrandis finished 15th after a first lap crash. Then, last weekend at Anaheim 2, Geico Honda’s Christian Craig and Jett Lawrence ran up front, but when Dylan Ferrandis took out Christian Craig and Jett Lawrence fell on the last lap, the defending 250 West Champion, Dylan Ferrandis was able grab his first win of the season. Will we have a repeat winner tonight in Glendale? Or will somebody new take the top spot?
250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS
Dylan Ferrandis grabbed the fastest qualifying time in the 250 West class for the fourth weekend in a row. Dylan’s Star Racing Yamaha teammate Justin Cooper qualified second, Austin Forkner was third, Christian Craig fourth and Brandon Hartranft fifth.
The top 18 transfer directly to the night show main events, the rest will compete in an LCQ for the final four qualifying spots.
250 LCQ RESULTS
With the Triple Crown format, it’s much tougher to qualify into the night show because riders are fighting for a spot on the main event since there aren’t any heat races. Chris Howell went down in the whoops early on the first lap. Then, Taiki Koga and Hunter Schlosser crashed together and ended their chances at qualifying into the Triple Crown Main Events. Ludovic Macler passed RJ Wageman at the end of the first lap to make it into second. On the final two laps of the LCQ, Karnow was able to pass Cheyenne Harmon and Rj Wageman to get into third. Then, on the final lap Cheyenne Harmon was close to making aggressive passes on Wageman, but after RJ made a mistake in the rhythm section, Cheyenne Harmon was able to make a clean pass.
250 GROUP A QUALIFYING SESSION 1 RESULTS
In the first qualifying session it was the defending Champion, Dylan Ferrandis grabbed the fastest time while his teammate, the current points leader, Justin Cooper had a big crash early in the practice. Justin came across the finish line, across the start straight away and he jumped into the sand corner and went over the bars and face planted straight into the sand. Being that it was sand, it seemed like Justin would be able to get up fairly easily, but he must’ve knocked the wind out of himself because he sat in the track still for about 30 seconds before he got up to his feet and got off the track. Justin did eventually get back up and he was able to log in a fast lap at the end of the first qualifying session to score the second fastest time.
