2020 SUPERCROSS POINT STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 1
After an exciting night of racing in Houston, the points have come in for the 2021 Supercross racers. Many things were uncertain heading into the first round of the 2021 season but one thing we did not expect was how awesome the racing was going to be. For the 250 class, Christian Craig almost dominated the entire night with not only having the fastest qualifying time out of everyone the entire night but then won his heat race and main event with a sizable lead on the rest of the competition. And then for Justin Barcia, the rider who many probably had their doubts because not only was he on a new ride, but because they had pulled off the fake Anaheim one win thanks to Troy Lee Designs and RedBull. For the first time in 25 years, Justin Barcia actually managed to go for the three-peat and win three season openers in a row silencing the critques.
450 SUPERCROSS POINTS ROUND 1 of 17
Coming into Houston 1 of the 2021 Supercross season, the majority of the 450 class were extremely close after their timed qualifying with the first to 20th rider sitting only 2 seconds in between each other. The lap times were short compared to many tracks but we had no idea the racing was going to be this close. After Ken Roczen won his heat race and Zach Osborne won his, we were sitting back excited for the night show, and it was nothing short of edge of your seat racing. Justin Barcia and Ken Roczen sat in front the entire race while Ken made multiple attempts to pass but could not succeed resulting in Justin getting first, Ken getting second, and the 25 of Marvin Musquin getting third.
250 EAST SUPERCROSS POINTS ROUND 1 of 9
One of the riders that is often overlooked is the humble Christian Craig. Christian had stated that he’s received a lot of doubt whether or not he still has his speed. After scoring the fastest qualifying time of the day, winning his heat, and then putting a gap in between himself and second place in the main event, Christian let it be known that he was here to race and win. Austin Forkner also stated that this was his year to make it happen in the 250 class and he scored an impressive second place followed by Colt Nichols sitting in third for the night. This East Coast roster may be one of the more exciting seasons in recent memory and we’re all for it because there’s nothing wrong with some good racing.
