2022 AMA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP OVERALL POINTS
2022 AMA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP OVERALL RESULTS
What a season! This was the closest season in both classes that we have seem in years. In the 450 class, it was the closest points chase in history coming down to 1 point in the final between the factory Honda rider Chase Sexton and the factory Yamaha riders Eli Tomac. It was the veteran versus the kid. At the last race of the year at Fox Raceway the veteran showed his experience. This is how the points standings ended up after 12 rounds.

250 OVERALL POINT STANDINGS
Jett Lawrence is a back to back 250 National champ.
Jett Lawrence was impressive this season. At the beginning of the year it seemed like we would be unstoppable with his brother Hunter coming on strong to at a few races. Then the rider from Japan, Jo Shimoda started to show promise and was able to battle with the Lawrence brother. Jett for the most part had a comfortable lead in the series and wrapped it at the last round in the first moto with a win.

450 OVERALL POINT STANDINGS
Eli Tomac is supposedly his last National race win not just the overall at Pala but the championship.
What a season it was for in the 450 class. Tomac started off slow as it seemed his YZ450F and him weren’t getting along. After a few rounds the team got the bike figured out and Tomac started looking like himself. Chase Sexton was on a mission to beat the veteran in the championship chase, however experience came in handy during the last round with only 1 point separating the two. In the final moto Chase had to win and Tomac had to finish third or worse. Chase started ahead of Tomac but ended up going down three times in the race.
