2022 MINNEAPOLIS SUPERCROSS PRE-RACE REPORT // EAST COAST 250 ROSTER & DAYTIME SUPERCROSS

The 2022 Monster Energy Supercross season has finally made its way over to the Eastern side of the United States, allowing a fresh roster of 250s to join the field. We are seriously crossing our fingers that this class of riders doesn’t end up in the same predicament as the Western side, which was a nightmare for the factory teams. Another thing that’ll make this class interesting is that there’s a handful of riders like Jett Lawrence and Cameron McAdoo who were originally supposed to ride on the West but due to injuries, are now racing this weekend. There’ll also be a lot of fresh new faces for Supercross such as Jett Reynolds, Levi Kitchen, and more that we’re keen to see perform.

Scroll down below to learn everything you need to know about the upcoming seventh round located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, home of the Vikings football team.

THE 250 EAST COAST ROSTER

After the devastating West Coast races, we’re eager to see a full 250 class for Supercross. After round 6, only 3 of the factory riders left the track still intact, and we’re only hoping the same doesn’t happen for the East Coast 250s. In the West Coast 250 class, the racing became the Christian Craig show as he no more competition before the brake. Will we see the same thing happen on the East? Only time can tell. Below are some of the heavy hitters that will be attending the races.

Star Racing Yamaha

Veteran 250 rider Jeremy Martin will be leading the pack starting round 7. Justin Cooper was supposed to join the fun but a serious foot injury before the season began would permanently take him out of the season. Levi Kitchen is starting his first season of Supercross after having a very successful amateur career.

Pro Circuit Kawasaki

We expect both Austin Forkner and Cameron McAdoo to put on a very strong performance for the East Coast. Cameron was originally supposed to race on the West but his recovering injury from outdoors would land him time recovering for the East. Jett Reynolds is also jumping straight into his pro career after a successful amateur career.

Honda HRC

Jett Reynolds will be the only one lining up for Team Honda HRC as his brother raced on the West Coast. The two were actually meant to race on opposite sides of the country, Jett being on West and Hunter being on East, but a gnarly get-off for Jett the week before the season started would mean an early season start for his brother.

He raced through the injury at Oakland and finished 11th, but a first turn crash in his Heat race at San Diego ended his night and season early. Joey posted via instagram: “Well. I tried, I love this job so much and sometimes it’s cruel. Trying to race and not being near 100% isn’t ideal, especially in this class. Yesterday was tough, with a track filled with right handers and some tough whoops the knee gave me all it could. But the crash in the heat was the final straw, so I’ve decided to get my knee fixed. Anyone who supports team 17 I appreciate you more than you know, sometimes it feels like you keep getting punched in the face but this will pass. I will keep everyone updated as events happen. I will be back”
