2022 UNADILLA NATIONAL // 250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS

We’re here in Unadilla for the ninth round of the 2022 Pro Motocross season. It’s been a handful of weeks since we’ve been back to the races but we’re ready for the wrap-up of the 2022 season. With three rounds left at Unadilla, time is running out for the rest of the 250 class to close the gap on the points lead set by Jett Lawrence. Jo Shimoda, Hunter Lawrence, and Justin Cooper have been the only ones to really contend with the Honda rider but is too late to catch up or will the small hiatus give even enough motivation for the championship? We’ll find out later today but first we have to get through the qualifying round.

250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS

Well, just when we thought the lap times couldn’t get any faster, the 250 class proved us wrong. Justin Cooper was the fastest in the first qualifying session but it would be Jett Lawrence as the fastest rider in the second. This isn’t as common as you’d think as typically, the first qualifying times are the fastest when the track is at its smoothest, but we believe that the track building up to its hard base has made it faster. How much faster was Jett, well almost two seconds faster than both Justin Cooper and the rest of the 450 class.

250 SESSION 1 QUALIFYING RESULTS

Qualifying commenced and the lap times would appear slightly slower than what we’ve seen in the rest of the season. Jo Shimoda would rise to the occasion with Derek Drake and Hunter Lawrence chasing in second and third. However, it didn’t take long for some more factory riders to join the party as Justin Cooper, Nick Romano, and Jett Lawrence moved past Derek Drake. One thing that did make qualifying interesting is that the qualifying times are surprisingly close, with the top ten being with three seconds of each other. Justin Cooper eventually bumped up to the top with Rj Hampshire and Jett Lawrence closing out the top three.
