250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS | 2020 SALT LAKE CITY SUPERCROSS ROUND 16
The 250SX East Coast is back in action at the 2020 Salt Lake City Supercross Round 16 after a brief 10-day break. The East riders left off with a muddy race at Round 13 and now they’re getting another muddy one again as Salt Lake City, Utah, experienced some hard rain on Tuesday night before the race. The free practice was canceled to give the track more time to dry out. The first Qualifying session was a muddy one, but it developed into a much better track for the second Qualifying sessions. All eyes will be on Chase Sexton and Shane McElrath in the 250 class today as they only have three points separating them with two rounds left. See below for Qualifying results from the 250 class and click the link for more of MXA’s coverage from Round 16.
250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS
The second Qualifying session was much better for the 250 class as the track has completely changed. The first Qualifying session was muddy and sloppy, but afterwards the Dirt Wurx crew was able to get out onto the track and groom most of the sections and work the wet dirt a little bit to dry it out. Now, the moisture has worked into the track, ruts are forming and there’s even dust in some sections. Shane McElrath had the fastest lap early in the session and then Chase Sexton dropped his time with three minutes left and took the fastest time of the day in the 250 class.
